Destiny Davenport joins team, increasing number of employees to 24
FREDERICK, Md. (November 14, 2018) – McBee, Moore, Woodward and Vanik IP, LLC (MMWV) is proud to welcome Destiny Davenport to the firm as a patent agent. MMWV is a law firm specializing in intellectual property in a variety of technical fields such as biotechnology, chemistry, engineering, and software. The firm operates in a 100% cloud-based platform embracing an environmentally-friendly, paper-free policy.
Destiny joins MMWV after serving as a patent agent for eight years at Bayer Corporation supporting the Seeds business (which was recently divested to BASF Corporation). Prior to joining Bayer, she worked for a large law firm serving industry and academic clients in a wide range of biotechnology fields such as:
- vaccines
- antibodies
- cancer detection tools
- plant and animal breeding mechanisms
- genetically modified plant biotechnology
- disease screening tools
- molecular markers
- range of laboratory tools
Destiny is an alumna of Francis Marion University where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology. She attended the University of South Carolina for her post-graduate program where she received her Ph.D. in Biomedical Science. Following graduate school, she served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences / National Institute of Health (NIEHS/NIH).
The team at MMWV is excited to have her on board. Having Destiny on the team will add depth to and diversify the offered areas of expertise as well as expand the small business to 24 employees.
