Following the recent departure of Jennifer Gerlock for employment with the federal government, techfrederick member, the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the promotion of Shelby Maly to serve as the Director of Marketing and Communications and Kimberley Levine as the Executive Director of Leadership Frederick County, the region’s premier community leadership development program.
Chamber President & CEO Rick Weldon spoke about the changes. “Jen Gerlock was an invaluable partner in helping us shift our Chamber’s brand and reputation to become a trusted voice and credible influencer of public opinion. Shelby was an essential partner in delivering on that promise, and she’ll bring her creativity, energy and skills to our efforts to take us to the next level. We’ve already grown our social media presence through her work, but now we’ll be shifting our focus to producing world-class events and programs that reach every sector and segment of our County’s economy and geography.”
Leadership Frederick County, now in it’s 37th year, leads a cohort of fifty (50) aspiring leaders on a journey of personal and professional discovery. Kimberley Levine, the Chamber’s Chief Financial Officer, has taken over as the LFC Executive Director, having completed the LFC program herself two years ago. “Kimberley is the perfect person to advance the reputation of this program to its next level. She’s been my partner throughout the decade that I’ve been here, and together we’ve weathered organizational, social, and economic challenges”, Weldon said.
Chamber Board Chair Dwayne Myers offered the following insights on behalf of the Board of Directors. “The Chamber staff team of Rick, Kimberley, Shelby, Debbie and Maddy have the Board’s full support as we move into a future full of opportunity and possibility. New businesses, enhanced collaboration with our partners in government, expansion of existing employers and a legacy of unparalleled community leadership suggest a very bright future for the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce”.
